“We stayed at Palazzo Pizzo for the Ferroagosto holiday weekend. The pictures in the listing were beautiful, but the place in person went beyond that! We loved waking up to beautiful views of the sea, and relaxing at the end of the night with colorful sunsets over the water. We could even see the eruptions of Stromboli from the kitchen balcony late at night. Even though it was the middle of August and hot, the apartment was cool for us, and there was a fan in the bedroom we used at night. We kept all of the windows and doors open (there were pull screens to protect from mosquitoes), the breeze moved through the apartment, we were very comfortable, and we weren’t hot. The decor was nice, everything looked new, and we loved the stone walls and airy feel. We would definitely stay here again if we are in Pizzo. This is also a great place to stay for any honeymooners - very romantic! ”

“Abbiamo soggiornato per una settimana in questo meraviglioso residence di design, comodo confortevole e funzionale. La residenza d’epoca associata ad un arredo minimale ma molto chic, ha reso il nostro soggiorno ideale e rilassante. La casa e’molto fresca e ventilata, abbiamo riposato benissimo senza l’uso dell’aria condizionata ma solo ogni tanto del deumidificatore. Il giardino mediterraneo con vista spettacolare sul golfo di Sant’Eufemia e’ stata la nostra meta preferita per trascorrere le calde ore pomeridiane all”ombra in assoluto relax comodamente seduti sulle sdraio azzurre. L’appartamento e’ equipaggiato proprio di tutto quello di cui si ha bisogno durante il soggiorno, non ultimo anche un nuovissimo ombrellone per il mare. Grazie mille!”

“Wir kamen mit grossen Erwartungen in die Wohnung, da die Fotos und die Bewertungen excellent erschienen. Unsere Erwartungen wurden gar übertroffen. Die Wohnung ist äusserst geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Modern und doch warm, hell, hohe Räume, wie in einem Palast. Das Klima war auch im August perfekt, da es in der Wohnung stets kühl war und die Terrasse ab Mittag nicht mehr in der Sonne liegt. So kann die Aussicht auf das Meer und die absolute Ruhe genossen werden. Susanne und ihre Familie sind äussert hilfsbereit und geben gute Tipps zu der schönen Stadt Pizzo. Besten Dank an die Familie dafür. Absolut empfehlenswert für Menschen die Ruhe suchen und doch zu Fuss alles erkunden wollen.”

“A really lovely apartment which is renovated beautifully in a fabulous location. The town of Pizzo is amazing and has a really good choice of places to eat and drink all of which are on the doorstep of the apartment. The locals were also some of the friendliest we have met. Very enjoyable and recommended.”

“Auf der Suche nach einer ruhigen Unterkunft am Meer, in welcher ich ungestört an meiner Diplomarbeit schreiben kann, bin ich auf die verlockenden Bilder des Palazzo Pizzo gestossen. Vor Ort haben sich meine Erwartungen in aller Form bestätigt! Die Wohnung ist liebevoll und originell eingerichtet, alles Nötige ist da und das Meer liegt einem zu Füssen! Das Wetter und somit auch die Wohnung waren Anfangs April etwas kühl - Dank Susans Crew jedoch kein Problem, mir wurde ein zusätzlicher Elektroofen organisiert. Die zwei Wochen in Pizzo vergingen im Flug. Keine Frage also, dass ich so bald wie möglich nach Pizzo und in den Palazzo zurückkehren werde!”

“Per vivere appieno questo appartamento bisognerebbe abbandonarsi totalmente ala bellezza di cui è intriso. Non parlo solo della posizione, incredibilmente affascinante, a due passi dal centro storico, in pratica vicino a tutto quello di cui avrete bisogno durante il vostro soggiorno, ma sopratutto il panorama mozzafiato: c’è un romantico balconcino che affaccia sul mare, come del resto anche il soggiorno. Ho visto i tramonti più belli della mia vita proprio da questo affacci. La casa poi è arredata con una sobrietà e un gusto finissimo, è composta da ottimi materiali, tutto nuovissimo ed efficiente. Curata fin nei minimi particolari è stato un tale piacere soggiornarvi che alla partenza ci siamo sentiti tristi. Susan e Angelo sono stati gentilissimi e hanno riversato tutta la loro sensibilità nella ristrutturazione di questo storico palazzo di Pizzo. Non troverò pace finché non ritornerò da voi! Grazie!”

“We travel a lot with AirBnB lately and we found our all time favourite with the Studio Bellavista! Besides the amazing view, it was perfectly clean, fully equipped and the host did everything to make our stay as perfect as it was!”

“We had a wonderful holiday in this lovely apartment. As well as being a gorgeous place to stay in, it was also peaceful and relaxing. So different from anywhere else we have ever stayed. Great location. So close to the square, veg shop and delicatessen. Even though we have no Italian language, we found the locals friendly and helpful and together with a little sign language communicated quite well.
Thank you for the kindness you showed us and for making us feel part of Pizzo for a short while, so memorable! It really was a holiday we will never forget and we are looking forward to coming back and doing it all over again in the not too distant future. ”

“We had the most beautiful stay at Palazzo Pizzo at the end of October with ten days of sun, beach and total relaxation. The carefully and stylish equipped apartment is even more stunning than the pictures. Located in the picturesque historic centre of Pizzo with sea view from the kitchen and the bathroom window as well as from the pretty balcony the apartment is perfect for instant stress relieve. Everything you need is within walking distance. The next Alimentari (like mini supermarket) is five minutes away as well as the piazza with it´s restaurants, typical food, bars and delicious ice cream. To reach the nice city-beach it´s a ten minute walk. Other beaches (and there are many of them) can be reached by apetaxi for little money. Our host Susanne was super nice and helpful. She answered all our questions promptly and friendly and offered assistance before we could even ask. She arranged an airport transfer for us, she wrote a little guide for Pizzo with recommendations for restaurants (we tried many of them they were all good), places to visit, shops to buy food and souvenirs etc., and she stayed in constant contact with us during the whole stay in case we needed anything. You can´t imagine a better host. We hope and wish to visit Palazzo Pizzo again by next year and can´t wait to meet Susanne and her family in person.”

“The view from the terrace alone makes this apartment an outstanding place to stay (on a clear day you can even see Stromboli). Spacious, and comfortable, Palazzo Pizzo’s apartment is newly renovated and everything is in excellent condition. The published photos tell a true story. It is a lovely place to spend a weekend or a month.The wifi is very good, which means it’s a great escape if you want to get some work done. The walk down to the beach is probably 10 minutes, and there you’ll find a selection of good restaurants, bars and gelaterias. The walk to Piazza della Republica is less than 5 minutes and there you’ll find more restaurants, bars and gelaterias. A little shopping street leads from the piazza with everything from the fishmonger to the jeweler and a little combo record/book shop. Even in winter most of the shops were opened. In summer, it’s probably a perfect little high street. The town does not subsist on a tourist trade alone, so there is a vibrant and friendly local community all year round. The region boasts beautiful beaches, Greek, Roman and medieval remains, good museums (particularly Vibo Valentia and Milteo, and a bit farther the National Archaeological Museum at Reggio), and proximity to the Aspromonte National Park. The roads are good and uncrowded. Oh yes, I highly recommend this apartment! ”

“Besser hätten wir es für unseren ersten Aufenthalt in Kalabrien nicht antreffen können, schon die ruhige Lage und doch mitten im Zentrum des alten Kerns von Pizzo liegt der Palazzo Pizzo atemberaubend direkt am Hang mit einem herrlichen Blick direkt auf das Meer. Das Appartment ist großzügig, wunderschön mit viel Liebe und modernen Elementen eingerichtet, es fehlt an keinem Komfort! Auf der sehr schönen Terrasse lässt sich der Tag mit einem Cappuccino beginnen oder Abends romantisch mit einem Glas Wein mit Blick auf den Stromboli (wenn man Glück) hat beenden. Durch den überaus freundlichen Service von der deutschen Eigentümerin, fühlt man sich sofort wie “zu Hause” an diesem malerischen Ort. Sie ist einem bei allen Fragen mit tollen Tipps behilflich und kennt sich bestens aus. Obwohl wir in der heißesten und meistbesuchten Saison da waren, war das Appartment eine angenehme Wohltat, wunderbares Klima und die rundum Sicht auf das Meer machen den Aufenthalt besonders romantisch. ”

“We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Palazzo Pizzo. The location of the apartment is perfect - easy walking distance to the main square, restaurants and marina, but very quiet and private - it feels a world away. Unlike many vacation rentals, this apartment is actually lovelier in reality than in the photos. There are world class views from the private terrace, the kitchen and even the bathroom. Angelo was the perfect host and guide, showing us all the highlights (including the very important tips on where to park!), pointing out the best restaurants, shops and cafes. - Pizzo was a great introduction for us to the Calabrian coast. As Californians, we are spoiled for beautiful sandy beaches, but Pizzo and environs did not disappoint. Unfortunately, as we were there in March, the weather was not quite warm enough for us to take full advantage and we hope to come back again in early summer or fall. In the three days we spent in Pizzo, we had the best seafood ever. We highly recommend La Lampara and L’Approdo. ”

“Our host was extraordinary, we felt welcomed and part of the family! Every effort was made to ensure that this was one of the best experiences of our life. The accommodation was breathtaking. No expense has been spared to ensure that this designer apartment meets the expectations of even the most experienced travellers. Pizzo is an amazing town, with great restaurants, delis and beaches, the friendliest people in Italy! We loved the Ape taxis, although walking to all the sights was very doable, even for 65 year olds! The main square is only 2-3 minutes from the apt, the amazing beach and Marina area, just a 10 minute stroll.”

“We would highly recommend staying at the Palazzo in early October as the weather was warm, a day at the beach still possible and few crowds so a seat for gelato was always available. Though we had no car, I would recommend it if you want to explore the surrounding areas. Grazie for a rejuvenating week!”

“The apartment is wonderful and located in the very heart of Pizzo with great views over the sea. The photos don’t really do it justice. Susan provides lots of info and guides to make your stay perfect. You can walk everywhere and there is a lovely little beach just below the apartment & Piazza. The apartment was very clean and the outdoor terrace area is great. Would highly recommend.”

“Ich war im Juli mit meiner Familie das erste Mal in Kalabrien. Die Lage von Pizzo, die wunderschöne Bucht, der Blick auf den Stromboli, die unmittelbare Nähe zur Piazza, die nie richtig schläft, wird erst in Kombination mit diesem Haus vollkommen. Die Tür öffnet sich, und man ist begeistert vom liebevoll gestalteten Ambiente. Nichts deutet auf Ferienwohnung. Hochwertige Ausstattung von den Böden, über die Möbel bis hin zur Kunst, die zum Teil von ortsansässigen klassischen oder zeitgenössischen Künstlern bezogen wurde. Beim sensationellen Ausblick verschlägt es einem aber dann ganz den Atem. Mit einem Glas Wein auf der Dachterrasse, Brot, Käse und Gemüse vom Händler um die Ecke muss man sich schon wirklich kneifen, um zu begreifen, dass man das live erlebt!!”

“Die Wohnung liegt spektakulär im Kellergewölbe eines traumhaft schön restaurierten alten Palazzo, direkt auf einem Felsen ca. 50 m über dem Meer. Aus den Fenstern sieht man direkt aufs Wasser - fast wie auf einem Schiff. Mehr Meerblick geht nicht. ”

“We wanted to travel from Salerno to Palermo by train but felt it necessary to split our journey due to the duration. - I searched the internet for a mid-way location and came upon the town of Pizzo and from there, had the good fortune to stumble upon the Palazzo Pizzo Residence. - From the moment I contacted Susan, she could not have been more attentive and I knew I was dealing with a hospitality professional. Having booked the property, she arranged for us to be picked up at the train station on arrival and dropped back on our departure. On arrival in the apartment, we were met by Susan’s father-in-law, Angelo who treated us to a tour of the town and an espresso, hospitality at it’s best. - As can be seen from the photos, the property and location are fantastic. For once, the photos may not do justice to the splendid accommodation. The privacy of the apartment, the layout, the facilities and the detail to attention are the best I have ever come across. - The town of Pizzo is charming and quaint and to have found such a wonderful accommodation added to the delightful experience. What a wonderful five days we spent here. - I cannot thank Susan and Angelo enough for the wonderful reception on arrival and for the experience of staying in such a wonderful location/accommodation. I would highly recommend this property to anyone intending to stay in this area. ”

“My husband and I cruised the Calabrian coast, spending the last days at Palazzo Pizzo. And we’re very happy we did! I love the whole set-up of Palazzo Pizzo especially the high stone ceilings, light shining through the glass windows and doors with views to the sea and our own private terrace where we spent all late afternoons, sipping aperativo, watching the setting sun and the changing colors of the sky, taking pictures of it and sharing them online. Thank you, Susan and Angelo, for making our holiday in Pizzo a memorable one. We hope to return in the near future.”

“Booking the apartment online was really easy and although the owner was away at the time we stayed we were extremely well looked after by her parents in law who couldn’t have been more helpful in making our stay comfortable. If you can drag yourself away from the views, there is a new flatscreen TV, Hi-Fi and Wi-Fi (reliable). - Pizzo is a very charming town and this apartment is an ideal place to stay.”

“As a big fan of Italy I loved this authentic village, which is so nicely restored. The location is perfect for swimming in the luke warm water of Calabria, to experience great typical food on the piazza and enjoy the narrow streets with the more than 200 year old houses. Pizzo is a real insider recommendation. Susan’s apartment is in one of these beautiful houses . It has very nice styling and stunning view of the ocean.”

“This completely renovated Italian house is farout the most beautiful one we have ever stayed in on our trips through Italy! The pictures already give you a good idea but in reality it is even more spacious and luxurious. Close by the center of Pizzo yet very peaceful. The roof terrace view is just spectacular and was our favorite. Every evening we enjoyed a spectacular sunset over the ocean with a view of the Stromboli vulcano at the horizon. The beach down the steps was the perfect place to relax, cool down in the water and enjoy the sun. In short, a big recommendation for a peaceful vacation. We enjoyed it very much !”
